How to make a quiz game
From empty board to game day in about 15 minutes.
1. Write the category board
On the start page, give the game a title. Each category box has a name and 5 rows worth 100 to 500 points. Write a question and a short answer in each row. Use + Category and + Row for up to 6 × 6. Empty rows are left out of the board.
2. Add survey rounds
Below the board, write a survey question and its top answers with points. You can have up to 10 rounds with up to 8 answers each.
3. Name the teams
Use + Team and − Team for 1 to 6 teams and type their names.
4. Play
Press Play category board or Play survey round. Switch between them with the button at the top of the board. The Buzzer button, or the B key, plays a buzzer sound.
5. Save and share
Save stores the game in this browser; find it under Saved games. Copy share link copies a link with the whole game inside it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. There is no login. Open the site and start typing.
Where is my game saved?
In your browser’s local storage on the device you used. It stays until you delete it or clear your browser data. It is not sent to us.
How does the share link work?
The whole game is packed into the link itself (after the # sign). Anyone who opens the link gets a copy of the game. Long games make long links; that is normal.
Can I use it on a phone?
You can make and play games on a phone, but the board is meant for a big screen: a projector, a smartboard or a TV.
How do I use full screen?
On a computer the board opens full screen when you press Play. Press Esc to leave full screen, then Close.
Why is there no sound?
Sound starts after your first click or tap, which browsers require. Check the volume and, on iPhone or iPad, that silent mode is off.
Can I add images?
Not yet. Questions and answers are text only for now.
How many teams can play?
From 1 to 6 teams.
Is it connected to Jeopardy! or Family Feud?
No. Quiz Games is independent. The names are used only to describe the game formats, and the trademarks belong to their owners.
